Beau hated this place.

But it was a step up from Charity's previous job. Not that Beau approved, something he'd made known at first. He'd eventually dropped the topic and quietly resolved to help her find something else the second she decided she wanted to. He wouldn't try to control her - The fact that she was assertive and made decisions for herself was something he loved about her. It was terribly modern and so very like his Lenore that he'd very quickly fallen. So Beau liked women with some bite to them. And Charity had plenty of bite.

He pulled his battered old truck into a parking place and climbed out, eyeballing the building with a heavy sigh. She worked on the second floor. He knew that, despite the fact that he'd never been to pick her up before. But her car was trussed up at home and he was attempting to fix it. Which mostly involved him not-swearing in an increasingly creative way because Beau didn't swear around women. So he was a little bit sexist. It was a hard habit to break.

A whistle greeted him as he made his way to the door. "Look at you, cowboy." Beau turned to peer out from under his hat and scowl at the cocky ass Irishmen that was grinning at him by the door. "You're Char's lad, aren't you?"

Beau grunted a response, nodding. "Yeah."

"Damn fine thing, she is. Tried to take her back a time or two -" The man broke into laughter, unable to finish his sentence, waving Beau in. "Kiddin', mate. Go find her."

Beau forced his fists to unclench and ducked inside, blinking at the sudden dimness. He was surprised by the fact that the first floor was swarming with women and mostly naked men. He huffed air from his nose and bowed his head, aware of the blush that was creeping up his cheek.

He'd grown to enjoy sex and, even on the rare occasion, initiate it. But it was still a private thing between two people. This was... Beau swallowed and made for the stairs. This was her job, he reminded himself. She chose this. No matter how much he wanted to throttle anyone that looked at her the way they were looking at the men downstairs.

Upstairs was just as bad, though the opposite of the lower floor. A soft growl escaped him as someone bumped into him and he made his way towards the door she'd indicated she'd eventually come out of and stationed himself there, standing awkwardly at the wall, a short distance away and trying like hell to keep his attention on the floor.

Charity was still covered in sweat.

It was just a thin sheen of the stuff, sticking to her skin, the only rivulets forming at the small of her back and in the valley between her breasts. A girl earlier that evening had snapped a heel and fallen on the stage, causing a back up in the night's line up. While Charity was supposed to have been done almost twenty minutes prior, giving her time to get cleaned up before Beau arrived, she'd barely ended her set by the time his scent broke through the heavily crowded room.

This was a good thing. She had nothing against Beau watching her dance, she practiced enough of her moves with him, he'd seen it all. Part of that was due to the fact she really wanted his opinion, he was the most hot-blooded male she'd ever met, no matter how prudish he could be at times. If he liked the moves that she made, then anyone would. Partly, though, she did it to make him a little uncomfortable. Driving him crazy was one of the most beloved parts of her life, of this new life. The only thing she liked more was waking up beside him.

No, her being done was being done was good because of the fact that had she still been on stage, Charity would have practically leaped off of it at the scent of her lover. She loved him in a manner that she'd never managed, and her heart set alight at the notion of him. Affection made evident at the way she raced from the back of the house to the front, dressed in a pair of yoga pants and a loose and strappy tank top. Dropping her bag at his feet Charity easily launched herself into his embrace, wrapping her legs around him (knowing that those strong hands would come up to support her) and draping her arms around his neck.

"Hello Beauregard." Smirking she purred his name, pressing up with her thighs to look properly down at him, curving her body down and running eager fingers through thick salt and pepper hair. "All these men just saw every bit of me." She tugged sharp at a strand, before pressing a kiss against the tip of his nose. "You outta show them just who I belong to."

Beau caught her effortlessly, though he grunted out of habit and surprise. Really, you'd think he'd expected it by now as they had crashed their way into his small house more than once and set the dogs off because they were too busy kissing to actually use their hands.

Beau liked being in love again. He'd finally let his guard down and had stopped worrying a little bit, content to show her his affection in a multitude of small ways and murmured 'love you's. He was quiet and private, but let this whirlwind of a woman into his life and his home.

"They better already know," he drawled, voice barely hiding the possessive growl he tried so hard to keep out of it. He hated her job, hated the idea of other men watching her. But he'd be damned if it didn't work exactly like she wanted it to and get him going. She had him wrapped around her finger.

His body's response to her was immediately noticeable, and Beau was thankful he was in jeans. Her attack had knocked his hat to the ground - Because of course he was wearing a cowboy hat. The man was predictable - And, still holding her, he crouched to retrieve it, settling it on her head. "How many of them do I have to kill for pawin' at you?" He asked, resting his cheek to her's a moment before tipping his head up to silently ask for a kiss.

"You like makin' me jealous," he accused with no real fire in his tone.
